Domestic Removals, if you are moving in the UK, our move consultant will come to your home to carry out a pre-move survey or arrange a contactless video survey.They will be with you every step of the way and will accurately assess your requirements.You will be guided through the process, and a clear written quotation with a breakdown of costs will be sent to you.

THE PROCESS

Most local removals take place over a single day on your day of completion. This means our team look to arrive for approximately 08.30 on the morning of your move. This allows us time to safely and methodically load your furniture and effects by 13.00 which generally is the time you will agree to vacate by when signing and exchanging your contracts. Once our vehicle(s) are loaded, our crews normally use the down time to have a bite to eat and drink ready for unloading. We will then head to your new home and then wait until you get the go ahead upon funds transfer to collect your keys and move in.

On arrival our crew will install carpet and hard floor protection to protect your property from the heavy foot traffic of moving. Our foreman will then ask for a guided tour of the property, this is where he will make mental notes of the assignment of rooms and also note anything that may be staying behind. He will also then direct any fitters to items that may need dismantling for removal. This process will only take 5 minutes but will prove invaluable later on when it comes to the delivery, as the foreman can take charge of which rooms the furniture being offloaded needs to go to in your new home.

INSURANCE

All our home removals are covered by insurance. Our customers’ homes and property are fully covered by our public liability insurance up to the value of £1,000,000 and furniture and possessions are covered to the value of £75,000 whilst loading and in transit. In the unlikely event that something is damaged, there is zero excess to pay by the customer.

DISMANTLING FURNITURE READY TO MOVE

If this requires dismantling for moving this will need to be done prior to the move. Pack all the sets of fittings in one box labelled ‘bits’ so you can locate these quickly when you need to re-assemble them.

ATTICS AND LOFTS

If the attic or loft is not boarded and lit or does not have safe access our crew cannot enter. Any attic or loft items will need to be taken down and placed in another room ready to be moved.

COOKERS / WASHING MACHINES / FRIDGES AND FREEZERS

Fridges and freezers will need to be defrosted in plenty of time to be dried thoroughly before moving. Cookers will need to be disconnected (by approved CORGI agents for gas cookers) and washing machines drained. Washing machines should be secured with the brackets supplied by the manufacturer for transportation.

FIXTURES AND FITTINGS / CURTAINS / BLINDS

Fittings will need to be taken down ready to be packed and moved by the crew. If you’d like our handyman to assist with doing this please let us know.

GARAGES AND SHEDS

Removals companies cannot transport flammable substances (e.g., tins of paint, gas bottles, etc) and therefore request that these items are sorted with rubbish and discarded in advance. Alternatively, you can take these with you personally.

ACCESS / PARKING

We would advise letting your neighbours at both collection and delivery address know of your move date if our vehicles are going to cause them any inconvenience. If it is required and you have not asked us to do so on your behalf please ensure any parking arrangements are made in advance.

If you have chosen to do your own packing it is important to use the appropriate containers for different items.
